hellooo!
hihi! haha. i just totally felt like blogging today, even though i shouldn't be. i've got a quiz coming up and a REAL BIO SPA NEXT FRIDAY WHICH WILL REALLY BE COUNTED INTO O LEVELS AAAHHHHHHHH
and i've got tuition in a few hours but i still haven't completed the homework -_- ah wells.
i realise that whenever i blog there's always the phrase "im blogging even though i shouldn't be"
that can't be good. haha. aghs whatever :P
anyway. today was... rather eventful. k not really. the most interesting subject today was lit. and only cuz i've got a lot to complain about -_- hmm. let's start with the beginning of the lesson, shall we?:D
first of all, mrs koh spent like almost the whole of the first period fiddling with the projector wire-ie thingies. i was at the back reading what has got to be one of the best issues of Play magazine ever :D then, when she finally gave up and went to get the technician, she came back all grumpy and was like "we've wasted so much time already, let's quickly get started." and even though she technically wasn't scolding us, she made it sound like it was our fault that it turned out the cable was spoilt or something. so then, we finally got started on Midsummer Night's Dream and gosh man, she goes sooo... slooowlyyy......
she goes like word by word please! i got bored after a while cuz she kept side tracking. like, we came across the word 'sweetmeats' and then she started talking about some dish in India or whatever -_- so me and shir just continued with the book ourselves. and the characters are like so luo suo pls!! nearly died. shir ended up doing like translations at the side of every page, and i'll give you a typical example of a translation. i shall type it all out :D

(Theseus is trying to convince Hermia to marry a man she doesn't want to marry. it's an arranged marriage by her father)
Original
THESEUS: Either to die the death, or to abjure
For ever the society of men.
Therefore, fair Hermia, question your desires,
Know of your youth, examine well your blood,
Whether, if you yield not to your father's choice
You can endure the livery of a nun,
For aye to be in shady cloister mewed,
To live a barren sister all your life,
Chanting faint hymns to the cold fruitless moon.
Thrice blessed they that master so their blood
To undergo such maiden pilgrimage;
But earthlier happy is the rose distilled
Than that which, withering on the virgin thorn,
Grows, lives, and dies in single blessedness"

was translated to

Translation
"Take my advice, die, or become a nun."

see the difference?? that whole chunk there, summarised accurately into 8 words. just minus the metaphors and stuff -_-
but the book is starting to appeal to me. as in like, the book is slowly getting more interestig. although i have yet to see why it's called a comedy. or maybe shakespeare's sense of humour is very different from today's humour. i dunno.
anyways. that's about all. i was like laughing when i translated that part. so funny! hahaha. k, actually it was shir who translated it, then i saw it, found it so funny and wrote it down.
anyways. i got chem tuition later, so i gotta go and prepare for it now. so called. zzzz. i have such a sad life. if there's no tuition that day, then there's GB. stupid, moronic GB.
sad life when compared to other singaporeans of course :P not comparing with the africans out there and stuff.
ok. (whoops in the tigger way. the hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! thing) ttfn! ta ta for now! :D
hahaha
